Zuken Inc. (Head Office: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Makoto Kaneko, below "Zuken") will, on April 1, 2016, split off its PreSight Division, which is its Enterprise PLM Solutions that has focused on the development and sale of Bill of Materials (BOM) System Products linked to light-weight 3D data, to establish a new company called Zuken PreSight.
The PreSight Division was established in order to develop and sell new solutions not limited to electronic design automation, which has been Zuken's core business since it was founded. Since that time, it has steadily expanded Zuken's customer base, and has recently stimulated demand in a number of fields for its highly unique knowledge management systems for the manufacturing sector.
It is predicted that the Internet of Things (IoT) will rapidly impact manufacturing industries. In manufacturing, which links a wide range of information concerning design, manufacturing, services, etc. through networks, for all design solutions including CAD, the IT infrastructure, which has been optimizing the overall manufacturing sector from a wide perspective, will bear an important role. In order for Zuken to take advantage of this trend in manufacturing as a big business chance and to further expand its PreSight business, it has realized that it is important to make faster and more autonomous business decisions on matters such as aggressively seeking new business partnerships without being limited to its existing partnerships, and decided to form this new company.
The new company aims to expand its business guided by new ideas based on its wide range of knowledge and software development technology nurtured at Zuken.
