YOKOHAMA, Japan - Zuken Inc. ("Zuken") is to expand functionality that applies 3D technology to the "E³.series" product, which is a major electric/electrical design tool aimed at industrial machinery manufacturers and control panel manufacturers.
The needs of domestic companies for greater efficiency in electric/electrical design are increasing, due to the increased electronics in and greater complexity of industrial machinery, such as machine tools and the intensification of market competition from manufacturers in emerging countries, and sales of the "E³.series" have expanded steadily in recent years. The "E³.series" is a product that already has a track record of implementation in more than 2000 companies in mechatronics markets throughout the world, centering around companies such as the leading machine tool manufacturers and FA device manufacturers in Europe, and with the expansion of this market domestically, we are increasing functionality aimed at Japanese customers, and promoting related services.
As a first step, using the 3D control panel layout examination function, connection examination function and length measurement function, which are the main features of the "E³.series," these functions, for the purpose of using the 3D design information for manufacturing instructions on the manufacturing floor, have been implemented as Japanese originals. This enables the manufacturing instructions that hitherto were carried out using paper drawings to be carried out in 3D, enabling great improvements in work efficiency.
These new functions will be reference exhibited in the "7th Design Support System Exhibition" (Zuken booth no.: 5C-214) at "Techno Frontiers 2012" that will be held at the Tokyo Big Site from July 11 to 13 (details of the content of the exhibition).
Zuken has positioned the "E³.series" as a strategic solution for the industrial machinery market, in addition to linking it with IT solutions for the construction of manufacturing infrastructure, Zuken is proposing more effective and efficient electric/electrical design processes.
